A normal day at my home is when my little dog is in the house and my large dog stays and sleeps outside. Today, my large dog was made to come indoors. It's funny because I believe he has an attitude with me. He would usually follow me around but, today it seems like he prefer to be where every I am not. He even has the nerve to make these hollowing type of sounds at me. Is it me or is my dog really trying to let me know of his disapproval of being forced in the house?
I love dogs and I am extremely happy to have been raised in a household where I was surrounded by four of them. I can honestly say that they were each very different; one enjoyed being on his own, the other couldn't tear himself away from us, the third loved the other dogs and the fourth was quiet and loving towards us and the other dogs equally. I strongly believe that dogs are just like people. They truly do have their own personalities. But I do think that part of their characteristics are dominated by genetics, their environment and their upbringing.
ReplyDeleteI can completely agree. I only had one dog, but prior to that I was a pet-sitter in my neighborhood. (anything to make a dollar :-) I had very loving dogs most of the time, but I also had some solitary ones. Alex, my next door neighbor's dog was the hardest to relate to. As he got older, I would literally have to leave a trail of food up to his food bowl in order to get him to eat. He was sick and old and didn't care, but if i physically touched his food, it somehow made it okay for him to eat. I've noticed this with my dog. If Sam wont eat, I put like a tablespoon of salad dressing in the bowl and make a big charade of mixing it around in front of her and then she eats it like it steak or something!
